Technical Design Manager | Maria Tash, New York, NY 

November 2019 – Present 

  • Collaborates directly with the company Founder on development of new fine jewelry designs 

  • Translates the founders' sketches, ideas and designs into marketable collections and product launches that are aligned with the brand DNA 

  • Develops product plans that balance merchandising objectives and the executive designers' goals 

  • Expanded the design department to facilitate design initiatives, product development, and TASH Studio projects (a virtual try-on feature on mariatash.com.) 

  • Prioritizes and delegates the design team's workload among 6 team members 

  • Streamlined the design process from ideation to production by introducing CAD technology, and cost-effective and efficient prototyping and sampling methods. 

  • Partners with vendors to ready new designs for production, including product development and raw material sourcing, ensuring both design integrity and the highest standards of fine jewelry assembly are maintained 

  • Experienced working directly with VIP stylists to fulfill client requests

CAD Designer | David Yurman Inc., New York, NY 

Aug. 2017 – Oct. 2019 

  • Responsible for creating solid, printable and workable files, with no naked edges or bad objects 

  • 3D modeled original jewelry designs based on sketches from the designers or 3D scanned hand carved waxes 

  • Advised on timelines for project completion and worked within established timelines 

  • Maintained aesthetic consistency within collections by thoroughly evaluating all references and being sensitive to established brand DNA 

  • Developed CADs within tolerances needed to ensure successful turnover to production without compromising design intent 

  • Created detailed 2D spec sheets that capture all pertinent dimensions, to-scale views, costing information and documented changes 

  • Prepped files for 3D printing, including adding casting sprues and sprue labels, adding pilot holes for diamond setting, split jewelry to be efficiently cleaned, cast, and assembled at the bench and exporting STL files 

  • Collaborated with in-house jewelers to develop best jewelry assembly and stone setting methods 

  • Created and manipulated solid mesh surfaces using 3D Coat digital sculpting program 

 

Jewelry CAD Designer | John Barton Company, Philadelphia, PA 

Feb. 2017 - July 2017 

  • Planned, designed, and 3D modeled men’s and women’s jewelry for fashion and artisan brands including Michael Bastian, Fenton Glass Beads, Louis Comfort tiffany. 

  • Developed mood boards and glass jewelry designs; planned production of glass elements in collaboration with the in-house glass artists 

  • Created photorealistic CAD renderings using V-Ray for Rhino 

  • Operated and Maintained the Solidscape 3z Pro and Makerbot 3D printer 

 

Watch Designer | Modern Brands Inc., Philadelphia, PA 

Aug. 2014 - Aug. 2016 

  • Designed women’s watches and accessories that stay true to individual brand identity 

  • while fitting within design and cost parameters 

  • Conducted trend research and developed themes that would inspire new product concepts, 

  • materials, color stories, patterns, and other design opportunities 

  • Used Rhino 3D to create CAD models of watch or jewelry designs, VRay Renderings, and 3D-Prints using a Formlabs 3D printer 

  • Created either 2D (Illustrator) or 3D (Rhino 3D) spec sheets for the creation of production samples 

  • Designed fashion watches and accessories for private label businesses at QVC such as Judith Ripka, Ecclissi, Barbara Bixby, Affinity, JAI, H by Halston, DMQ, and other fashion brands

  • Offered creative solutions and fresh jewelry designs for Jai’s “I Love” collection 

  • Researched project sentiment and interpreted findings into original jewelry designs appropriate for project intention 

  • Prepare design packages for the client 

  • Render designs using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
